Our Design Process
The Design Process from Start to Finish.
What it’s like to work with Ruby + Citrine.
Choosing to work with a professional designer is one thing; however, choosing which design agency to work with can be more difficult.
While you can take a look-see through our portfolio, often it’s helpful for potential clients to understand what our basic design process is like.
That’s why today we’re going to walk you through our standard operations, if you will, to let you have a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work with Ruby + Citrine.
Step 1: Briefing Call.
We begin with a friendly call to discuss your goals, timeline, and any starter materials you can share—slides, sticky notes, Google Docs, even wine-stained napkin sketches. This is where we capture the big picture and establish your project requirements.
Step 2: Project Kickoff.
After we chat, we’ll send you a proposal that includes our ideas for the best way to approach this project in order to communicate effectively.
We always believe form follows function.
Obviously, you want a beautiful presentation, but it’s not going to wow anyone or generate any kind of ROI if it’s not designed with a tangible goal in mind.
Think of this as the rocket launch that powers the rest of the journey.
Step 3: Creative Work.
Now the magic happens. Our designers dive in, shaping visuals and storytelling that serve your objectives. You get to focus on other priorities while we craft your presentation.
Step 4: Project Review.
Before anything reaches you, we run a thorough quality check internally. At Ruby + Citrine, we always want to deliver your slides at the highest quality—every stage of our process is designed to make sure your presentation looks stunning and communicates effectively. We then share the first polished draft so you can review and request tweaks.
Step 5: Back to You!
You receive the initial presentation files—ready for your detailed feedback.
Step 6: Round 2 (and beyond, if needed.)
We incorporate your notes and provide an updated version. Additional refinement rounds can follow until it’s exactly right.
Step 7: Final Approval.
WOO WOO! Once you’re thrilled with the design, you give the official thumbs-up and we deliver all final files.
Step 8: Leave a Review.
We love hearing how we did. A quick review lets us know we hit the mark and helps future clients find us.
(Optional) Step 9: Brag on our Team.
We can talk up our team all we want, but it means so much more when it comes from clients like you. For example, here are a few things recent clients have said after working with our presentation design posse:

You can read more reviews from our previous clients here.
Now that we’ve walked you through the process, if you have any questions, ask. There’s wisdom in the saying, “The answer is always no until you ask.”
In the meantime, you know where to find us.
In real life, we’re located inside Blush Cowork in Cary, North Carolina. And, online, you can find us on the socials down below.
